Strengths
Right-handed… As a 6'5" 2-guard with pretty good athleticism, Buford projects as a decent NBA prospect, but he hasn't shown much improvement between his freshman and sophomore campaigns… He is an offensive threat who is always in attack mode. He offers excellent scoring instincts, primarily in the form of his perimeter shooting. He has textbook shooting form and a smooth touch, especially as a spot-up shooter or coming off screens… He is struggling a bit this season, but overall, Buford is a very good foul-shooter… Defensively, he struggles at times, but he puts in the effort on D by contesting shots and trying to block out….
Weaknesses
Although he possesses good height, Buford has a narrow frame and isn't an outstanding athlete… Buford is an offensive force at times, but is somewhat limited by his difficult shot selection and his slow release. He is a capable off-the-dribble shooter, but because he has a slow release, he doesn't get a large number of shots off in this area. The aspect of his game that needs the most work is his penetration and slashing. He doesn't have the ball-handling abilities or the quickness to get into the lane at an scoring advantage…
