#25 Wayne Blackshear  | G
Stats

Hometown: Chicago, IL

Height: 6'5"

Weight: 215

Position: Shooting Guard

Team: Louisville

Class: Senior
Strengths

Right-handed… Blackshear has decent size at 6'5" with good length and a 6'9" wingspan that allows him to attack the basket offensive or rebound the ball on the defensive end and push the ball in transition. He is a very good athlete with agility to match that allows him to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim, often using a crossover to create space between his defender…. What makes Blackshear more attractive is his NBA ready body, strength and toughness. Blackshear can finish with contact in the lane and compete with bigs for loose balls and rebounds… Because of his hard-nosed drives to the rim, Blackshear uses a step-back to get an open mid-range jumper. He has a good handle, allowing him to put the ball on the floor in the half court setting or grab rebound and push the ball…
Weaknesses

The biggest thing holding Blackshear back right now is his perimeter shooting; he is streaky at best, which is interesting because he has good-looking form. Once he improves his consistency, that will open up his driving lanes, making him a more versatile scorer… Another thing he would like to see from Blackshear is using his strength and physicality a bit more. He has the length and strength to post-up smaller guards… Blackshear needs to improve his ball-handling on the wing to add a go-to move that would create even more separation, like a spin more or using his step-back more often…
