Stats

Hometown: Charlotte, NC

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 180

Position: Shooting Guard

Team: Duke

Class: Senior
Strengths

Right-handed… Curry has the reputation of being a sharp-shooter, mostly due to his brother and his father's NBA roles, and Seth hasn't disappointed, knocking down 43.5 percent of his shots in his first year at Duke and second year of college basketball overall. When Kyrie Irving went down with his injury, Curry moved right into the starting lineup, surpassing Andre Dawkins, a reserve guard from last year, and making an impact right away. He doesn't have the same quickness his brother had, but he gelled quickly with Nolan Smith and could play on or off the ball with him. He has above-average court vision, but isn't a great playmaker due to his physical limitations. In transition, Curry is a threat due to his ability to play at different speeds (although he lacks a top-notch top gear), change directions and pull-up or draw the defense and kick it out to a shooter… He is extremely adept at pulling up off the dribble, taking and making some very difficult shots. He has a quick release, allowing him to get his shot off with the defense flying out on him… Playing off of his jumper, Curry can get into the paint with a simple shot-fake due to his high-level of efficient shooting. He loved going to a crossover or spin move to create separation… Defensively, Curry can hold his own on most guards because of his solid fundamentals and positioning. He has a relentless motor that keeps him going even if he is outmatched against a bigger, more athletic opponent.
Weaknesses

He's just 6'2" and suffers from below-average athleticism, explosiveness and quickness and isn't the same type of player his brother was. He moves a bit slower and plays heavy-footed, making him an unreliable option to run Duke's offense. Yes, he can find the open man and has good court vision, but he lacks the playmaking ability to draw the defense and set up his teammates. He lacks a great first step to get by his defender… Defensively, Curry doesn't offer much because of his below-average size, length and quickness. He has solid fundamentals as one would expect and a high motor…
