Strengths
Right-handed… Despite playing less than 12 minutes a game in Coach Tubby Smith's half-court offense, Williams possesses the talent to be a 1st Round pick in the near future. Just 19 years old, Williams is an extra lengthy and lean, but elite athlete. He is an explosive leaper with a tremendous vertical leap who can fly up and down the floor with his long, quick strides. Williams is the type of player whose production in college won't be thrilling, especially since he is better suited in a transition, run-and-gun system, but his measurables will be off-the-charts at the NBA combine… In transition, if a defender sees Williams streaking down the wing, he had better get out of the way because he is an above-the-rim highlight reel waiting to happen. He can catch the ball and leap over opponents or he has the ability to take a dribble or two and pull up for a short jump shot... He crashes the offensive glass with determination to get a put-back, but his lack of strength makes him easy to box out… Defensively, Williams' length and lateral quickness make him capable of defending all three perimeter positions...
Weaknesses
Williams must continue to develop his skill set. He struggles to score in the halfcourt setting with his average shooting abilities and ball-handling. He looks uncomfortable shooting from the perimeter and attempting to score off the dribble. With his athleticism, if he can develop a consistent mid-range shot and confident ball-handling abilities with some advanced ball moves, the results could be scary. Of course, the key word there is "could". Williams does exactly fit Tubby Smith's halfcourt offense, especially with his lack of skill to this point, so it's a wonder how much playing time he will garner… Williams needs to add strength to his slight frame…
