# 25Marquis Teague | G
Stats

Hometown: Indianapolis, IN

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 189

Position: Point Guard

Team: Kentucky

Class: Freshman

Strengths

Right-handed… Teague has tremendous talent, but has yet to live up to his lofty expectations as the Wildcats' point guard. But there is a lot to like with Teague- he has good size at 6'2" with a 6'6", 6'7" wingspan and a chiseled build. His biggest assets are his speed and quickness. He is able to routinely blow by his man and get into the lane in isolation situations, but Teague is an aggressive threat in the open floor in transition. He pushes the ball relentlessly, showing the ability to finish in the lane with his length and athleticism, but also dish off to the open man…
Weaknesses

Despite comparisons to Coach Cal's previous point guards, Teague has struggled more than each of them. He plays wild, out of control, forcing passes and shots alike resulting in poor shooting percentages and consistency and turnovers. His speed and quickness are huge parts of his offense and defense, but he often plays too quick for his own good. He doesn't do a great job at this stage of his game running the team and managing the game. Teague can take his team out of the offensive rhythm by over-dribbling or skipping the simple pass for a shot. Overall, Teague's decision-making is just not where it needs to be… He has plenty of work to do to become an effective perimeter shooter- his shot is flat and release is inconsistent…
