Stats

Hometown: Roswell, GA

Height: 6'5"

Weight: 189

Position: Shooting Guard

Team: N.C. State

Class: Junior
Strengths

Right-handed… Brown is a multi-talented combo-guard who can line up at either spot in the backcourt and score with the best of guards in his class- he can score slashing through the lane, knock down mid-range jumpers in transition and although streaky, as a set shooter as well. Right now, Brown is better at scoring off the dribble and knocking down those 15 foot jumpers. He has deceptive quickness, a solid build and uses his size well to get in the paint and kick-out to set up shooters or cutting bigs…. Brown's future lies with his ability to transition to point guard. He is not a pure 1 at this stage, but he sees the floor well and delivers solid passes. Brown is an effective offensive contributor with the ball in his hands. He can use his physical strength to body up a defender or his quick, rangy first-step to get to the basket and create opportunities for others… Brown has excellent ball-handling skills, efficiently playing at different speeds thanks to a devastating hesitation move.
Weaknesses

Brown is a fluid athlete, but lacks the explosive ability to blow by his defender or soar in the lane to finish a shot or grab a rebound. He has a narrow frame, but decent strength at this stage in his game. Thanks to his lack of explosiveness, he is just an ample finisher in the paint, struggling to connect on half his 2-point shots. He needs to do a better job drawing contact and getting to the free throw lane with the amount of time he spends getting into the lane… While he is a decent shooter spotting-up, he is streaky at best off-the-dribble. Brown will need to continue to work on his perimeter shooting to better set up his ability to penetrate the lane…. He has a tendency to be careless with the ball at times in forcing passes through decent, but still-improving decision-making…
