Strengths
Right handed.... The 6'7" Hamilton is quite the versatile player and has the potential to be a star as a perimeter player… He has good size and length which helps him in getting off his jump shots from the wing or finishing around the rim… Extremely athletic and possesses great poise and body control… Hamilton excels in transition, especially after grabbing a rebound and then starting a break…. He has good court-vision and distributes the ball well… He is a very good perimeter shooter with deep range to complement. He can score from almost anywhere on the floor. He can light it up quickly and doesn't need much room to get his shot off. He doesn't stop moving without the ball, wearing out defenders until he gets open. What makes Hamilton even more dangerous is his ability to put the ball on the floor and explode by the defender. … Defensively, Hamilton has shown excellent fundamentals. He gets low in his stance with his arms all the way out. He has great lateral quickness and works the offensive player. He is also one of the better help-side defenders we have seen play this year. When the ball is across the court, Hamilton is between the ball and his man with one foot in the paint… He is a very good rebounder who leaps to snatch the ball instead of letting the ball come down to him…
Weaknesses
His release is still somewhat irregular as he cocks the ball from the side of his head and fades on his mid-range jumpers. His shooting is still a little streaky and shot selection is questionable at times. He is a much better shooter when his feet are set, as opposed to pulling up for a jump shot. He is much more likely to take a contested jumper, as opposed to looking for an open teammate or bringing the ball back outside… Hamilton has shown the ability to be a pretty good defender, but his lateral quickness is just average. His effort and desire make him the defensive player he is… Some scouts' knock on Hamilton is that he isn't a freak athlete, but he is indeed a smooth player with great scoring instincts and good size…
