#30 Jon Scheyer | G
Strengths

It's difficult to find a senior that's having a better season than Duke's Jon Scheyer. Scheyer is the key part of Duke's success this season. The 6'5" point guard/shooting guard was always known for being an excellent shooter throughout his previous three seasons in Duke. And that he is. He has deep, NBA range on his jump shot. He is one of the best spot-up shooters in the country and has improved his shooting off the dribble this year… Also an improvement this season is Scheyer's point guard play. He handles the ball well and sees the floor even better. Four years playing under Coach K, plus Scheyer's naturally high basketball IQ have made him an incredible player, no matter what position he is playing. He has proven to be a true floor general…
Weaknesses

While a number of scouts have been impressed with Scheyer's senior season, they still seem as if they will be hesitant to select the 6'5" Blue Devil in the June 2010 Draft because of his lack of athleticism. They don't think that he will be able to defend at the next level. His offense will always be there, but even against quicker defenders this season, Scheyer has struggled. Duke uses a variety of screens and options to get Scheyer the open shot, but when faced with a quick defender who can get lost in the screens and recover, Jon has struggled… While his offensive production has greatly improved, he still struggles to create his own shot. He handles the ball well, but does not create much separation between himself and the defender…
