Strengths

Right-handed… Ezeli doesn't have much basketball experience and that shows in some aspects of his game, but he is a very good prospect based on his size, strength and athleticism. He's made long strides in his first season as a starter, both offensively and defensively… In the low blocks and on the offensive boards are where Ezeli makes his mark offensively. He has shown a great right-handed hook shot over his left shoulder. With his wide frame, length and strength, Ezeli has been established a low base, keeping the defender behind him and has even been more assertive in calling for the ball… He runs the floor well and goes straight from rim-to-rim… Defensively, he's still learning the fundamentals, but is a terrific interior presence. He is lengthy and thick, keeping in between his man and the basket. His awareness is increased, but still has some ways to go…
Weaknesses

Ezeli is still quite raw and has only been playing basketball for a few years. Offensively, he's still a work in progress. He has nearly doubled his efficiency from the low blocks- no longer relying on banking the ball in from a few feet out and cutting down on his turnovers from putting the ball on the deck in the blocks. When he steps away from the rim to face-up, Ezeli needs to improve his shot and accuracy. He doesn't yet have the touch in this aspect of his game… At some times, it's pretty obvious Ezeli doesn't yet have a great feel for the game. He isn't developed enough to read the defense and find the open man, even when defenses double-down on him. Results are ugly: turnovers and more turnovers, although much less than last season. His lack of discipline extends to the defensive end where Ezeli averages 3 fouls per game in just 22 minutes of action…
