#13 Ekpe Udoh | F
Note: Transferred from Michigan.
Strengths

Right handed....Standing at 6'10", Udoh can play larger than his size because of his athleticism and quickness. He has great length with a long wingspan… He is a defensive force, as he led the Big Ten in blocks with 92 in 2007-08 before he transferred from Michigan. His shot-blocking ability is perfect for the Baylor system because the Guards are very aggressive in the passing lanes and as a second-tier of defense, Udoh can block and alter shots… As a Sophomore for the Wolverines, Udoh was only known as a defensive player. However, he has shown drastic improvement so far in the 2009-10 NCAA season. He has shown a nice face-up game from 12'-15' away, including one dribble, pull-up jumper or one dribble, post move. Udoh's footwork has gotten much better in the post and is showing the ability to create separation from a defender and finish around the rim… His offensively game has been a huge surprise this season, improving his effectiveness around the rim and developing a nice mid-range game… Udoh remains a strong rebounder, especially on the offensive glass…

Weaknesses

Udoh is still developing offensively despite taking leaps and bounds since transferring from Michigan to Baylor, but he is coming along nicely. His post-game needs to continue to develop… He needs to add some weight and strength so he can work in the post at the next level as well as gain, and maintain post position against the 4's and 5's in the Big XII and in the NBA as well… Below-average lateral quickness- will need to improve his perimeter defense… Udoh still seems like he has a lot to learn about the game in terms of getting a feel for it and his reads offensively and defensively- he needs to improve his basketball IQ if he wants to continue to develop and be successful…
