Stats

Hometown: Raleigh, NC

Height: 6'2"

Weight: 215

Position: Shooting Guard

Team: Marquette

Class: Senior
Strengths

Left-handed… Johnson-Odom makes up for his lack of ideal size with terrific strength and physicality, but also some decent length and solid athleticism… He is a terrific shooter with deep range- one of the nation's best in his junior season and will be one of the best guards in the Big East as a senior… Johnson-Odom has an excellent motor and carries a "junk-yard dog" mentality- some feel that because he was not a consensus recruit after junior college, but this has prepared him with stellar toughness to finish against bigger defenders. What helps him is his ability to finish with either hand around the rim and finish with contact… Defensively, Johnson-Odom's length and athleticism make him an outstanding defender. He is quick enough to guard 1s and strong enough to cover some 2s and even some 3s. He plays the passing lanes well, perhaps coming across too overaggressive at times…
Weaknesses

Johnson-Odom is undersized as a 2-guard, standing at roughly 6'2", but provides some bulk and outstanding athleticism to help combat his size. However, his toughness and quickness will only take him so far as he would be faced with taller, longer and quicker guards at the next level… He is ambidextrous finishing around the rim, but he needs to become a better finisher in the paint- needing to add a floater or short pull-up to his arsenal. Also, Johnson-Odom should continue to put in the work on his free-throw shooting where he is a sub-par finisher, leaving points on the board.
