Emmanuel Mudiay Shakes Up The College Ranks

Coach Larry Brown and the SMU Mustangs have achieved their biggest victory in his tenure at the university. The Mustangs secure the commitment of the No. 2 point guard and No. 5 overall player in the ESPN 100, Emmanuel Mudiay (Prime Prep/Arlington, Texas). Mudiay shocked the college world when he chose SMU over other high profile schools including Baylor, Kansas, Kentucky and Oklahoma State. Mudiay is the highest-rated player to ever choose the Mustangs. The Mustangs haven't made the NCAA tournament since 1993, but the chance to play for a Hall of Fame coach and stay close to home were the reasons that Mudiay chose SMU. Heis a big, physical guard with excellent vision and strong dribble-penetration skills. He has the potential to become a superior defender. Just a site note, coach Brown is the only coach to ever win a championship at the collegiate and professional level (Kansas, 1988 & Detroit Pistons, 2004).
