Lottery Pick Withdraws from the Draft

Just weeks away from the 2013 NBA Draft, a likely lottery pick pulls out of the draft. Croatian Forward Dario Saric has withdrawn from the NBA Draft according to his agent. This comes as a bit of a surprise since a strong season overseas next year does not grantee he will get picked higher. Saric is a typical European player, a big man who plays the Small Forward position. Saric will look to improve his strength and his jump shot next season in Europe.

There were a number of teams in the lottery who were considered a possible landing spot for Saric. Teams interested in the lottery included the New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trail Blazers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Dallas Mavericks. Saric got off to a slow start but came on strong to finish out his season. Saric won the MVP of the Croatian playoffs averaging 15.7 points, 9.3 rebounds. Saric's withdrawal from the draft opens up a spot for a player to jump into the lottery. Stay tuned for the latest NBA draft news.
