Florida Gulf Coast Eagles' Story continues

Every year the NCAA Tournament has a Cinderella story associated with it, and this year is no different or is it? 2013's Cinderella team is the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles. The Eagles are a 15 seed that started the tournament by upsetting a No. 2 seeded Georgetown Hoyas. A No. 15 seed advancing to the next round has only happened now 7 times in tournament history. FGCU now has continued their magical run to the sweet 16. FGCU is the first No. 15. Seed to make it to the sweet 16.

The Eagles second win of the tournament came against a No. 7 seed San Diego State Aztecs 81-71. Florida Gulf Coast plays with passion and confidence to go along with their fast paced athletic style of play on both ends of the court. They are led by senior Sherwood Brown who averages 15.6 PPG and 6.6 RPG. Helping lead the way are Junior Chase Fieler and Sophomore Bernard Thompson. Fieler averages a healthy 12.1 PPG to go along with 5.4 RPG. Sophomore Guard Bernard Thompson averages 14.5 PPG and grabs 4.5 boards per content. The Eagles Cinderella story continues when they meet the no. 3 seed Florida Gators in the sweet 16. Nobody knows if this remarkable story will continue past the sweet 16, but the fans should sure be in for a treat this Friday night in Arlington Texas.
