Nikola Jankovic Excels in U-18 European Championships
The third-ranked player in our 1994 international rankings, Serbian power forward Nikola Jankvoc was quite impressive, taking home the honor of being named to the All-Tournament team during the European Championships. The 6'8" Serb averaged 14 points and 8.2 rebounds, while shooting nearly 60 percent from the field, playing three frontcourt positions for his squad. His face-up abilities from the mid-range and garnering contact around the rim, Jankovic was a major contributor for Servia.
The physically-impressive 18-year old isn't a great athlete, but utilized very good footwork, body control and a developing perimeter game en route to moving up our rankings. Playing at a high level for the past few seasons, Jankovic has been able to compete with the stronger and more athletic professionals with his own high skill level, but more importantly to his development, a high basketball IQ and aggressiveness to crash the boards.
