Mouhammadou Jaiteh Progresses For France

During August's European Under-18 Championships, France's 1994-born center, Mouhammadou Jaiteh, an extremely long, athletic, yet undesirably raw big man, progressed as one of the top international prospects in his class; he was the team leader in points (16.6), field-goal percentage (64.6 percent), rebounds (11.6), steals (1.6) and turnovers (3.8) in France's nine games.

While quick on his feet, Jaiteh managed to also use his size to his advantage inside, drawing about five fouls per game, connecting on 73.5 percent of his free throws (second-most attempts on the team in the tournament). But his strength allowed him to bolster his initial post-positioning and hold his ground and finish with a still-developing touch. His 3.8 turnovers per game were concerning, but with time and experience, Jaiteh will improve his court-awareness and ability to read defenses collapsing on him.
