Living Up To The Potential: Erick Green, Virginia Tech

It's been a rough stretch for Seth Greenberg and the Hokies- missing four straight years on the NCAA Tournament bubble and last season's team was seen as the one that would get VT back into the field. But injuries diffused their chances and now three starters, including All-ACC Malcolm Delaney and Jeff Green have graduated.

Enter Erick Green. Injuries all around this roster provided an opportunity for this 6'3" combo guard to start 26 games last season. Along with his 11.6 points per game, Green was third in the ACC with 1.8 steals and a 2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio and ninth in free-throw percentage (.777).

He showed off his mid-range game last season, but more so his playmaking ability. The junior guard will be a vital part of the offense without Delaney playing alongside of him. He will have the ball in his hands every offensive possession, giving him more opportunities for assists and buckets.
