Living Up To The Potential: Vander Blue, Marquette

As one of the most highly rated recruits to come to Milwaukee in the last 20-30 years, Blue's first season under Buzz Williams was a massive disappointment. He averaged a shade over 5 points per game, shooting under 40 percent from the field, including 16 percent from 3-point range and 61 percent from the foul line. Well, the brightside is things could not get much worse. As the natural progression takes place like most freshmen to sophomores, Blue is going to get better. He'll need to.

Blue will again be in the Marquette rotation because of his ability to defend and play multiple positions on offense, but his production will need to warrant an increase in minutes. He scored in double-figures just once in 18 Big East games, while failing to record a single point in 11 others.
