Hamilton Keys Texas Success

Very little of this offseason was focused on the Texas Longhorns 2010-11 squad; perhaps more time was spent discounting the team after their epic free fall as the nation's No. 1 team to their first-round collapse against Wake Forest than discussing the Longhorns chances in the Big 12. And last night against Navy, we learned why.

Rick Barnes will lean heavily on sophomore swingman Jordan Hamilton. He never met a shot he didn't like, launching several long jumpers to start the game. He is talented, athletic and shows the promise to one day be a first-round pick, maybe even this year, but Texas, as team, will struggle without a second perimeter shooter. Hamilton was 3-for-8 from 3-point range and the rest of his team was just 1-for-9. With that type of performance, you can bet teams around the nation will be keying in on Hamilton, locking him down and making others step up.

Louisiana Tech has the Longhorns next, so let's see how Rick Barnes will adjust his offensive stability before Wednesday night.
