Xavier Suffers Another Setback

Xavier has suffered another setback, joining 3-point specialist Brad Redford (torn ACL) and starting freshman wing Justin Wing (ineligible) will be senior forward, Jamel McLean, the team's returning leading rebounder and second top scorer. McLean broke a bone around his eye socket in Tuesday's exhibition against Northern Kentucky.

With Redford out, point guard Tu Holloway lost his top option on the perimeter. Then, Justin Martin was ruled a partial qualifier and Coach Chris Mack lost his replacement for guard Jordan Crawford, a 1st Round pick in this past NBA Draft. And now McLean is out, at least for three to six weeks. With only two returning starters, the Musketeers could be in trouble as early season matchups against Butler, Wake Forest, Gonzaga and Florida loom.
