76ers trade Green to Hornets for Brackins, Songaila

In their latest move to bolster the franchise, General Manager Ed Stefanski has traded away seven-yeard guard Willie Green and third-year forward to the New Orleans Hornets for a pair of forwards in Craig Brackins and Darius Songaila.

Green averaged 9 points per game last season, but has slowly been falling out of favor with 76ers management and the coaching staff. Green would figure to see even less minutes this year with rookie Evan Turner on board. He will fit right in to a shallow Hornets backcourt backing up Marcus Thornton and Marco Belinelli at the 2-guard spot.

Craig Brackins, the 21st overall pick in this year's NBA Draft, is a versatile inside-outside talent, but he and newcomer Darius Songaila could struggle to see minutes behind the 76ers depth in the frontcourt.  Both will fit into the rotation with forwards Elton Brand, Thaddeus Young and centers Marreese Speights and Spencer Hawes.
