Temple's Allen Joins US Men's Select Team
After selecting the USA Men's Select Team to train against the 2010 US Men's World Championship Team, Lavoy Allen from Temple University has been added to the team, replacing Howard Thompkins of University of Georgia. Thompkins, a potential 2011 NBA lottery pick, has withdrawn because of a minor left foot injury.
Allen is our preseason Player of the Year in the Atlantic-10 Conference, leading the league's best team, the Temple Owls. However, Allen and the Owls will face some stiff competition from Kevin Anderson and the Richmond Spiders.
