Strengths

Left-handed… A few teams may shy away from James- after not playing in high school and breaking out while in the Air Force, he attended junior college before breaking out for the Seminoles at age 26… Physically and mentally, James is mature and composed. He stands at 6'10" with good length and a developed, muscular body at 240 pounds… After taking some time to adjust to the style of playing for a high-major program, James turned things around using his wingspan and athleticism to become one of the most feared defenders in college basketball. He is a tremendous shot blocker and strong on the boards and he's just starting to gain confidence. James works hard on the defensive end to fight his man for positioning and exhibits a high motor all-around… He still has a ways to go offensively, but he can score with a short hook shot over his right shoulder…
Weaknesses

James is not a big offensive force, but coach Leonard Hamilton raves about how moldable he is. But by the time the 2012 Draft roles around, James will be 27… He does not have great mobility making him a weak link when he must defend on the perimeter or on offense, when put into pick-and-roll situations. Granted, overall, James still has a long way to go offensively in nearly every area. Other than his left-handed baby hook, James' offense comes by way of cuts, penetration-and-dump-offs and put-backs. He struggles to finish with contact, which should improve as James can add upper body strength… Adding on to his offensive development, James rarely looked to score the ball outside of 5-7 feet as he has virtually no touch from a mid-range jump shot in that area…
