Augusto Lima

Strengths

Right-handed… Lima looks the part of an NBA big man standing at 6'10" with a 7'1" wingspan and sold athleticism. His best opportunities come in transition and crashing the offensive glass. Lima can routinely beat his man to open spaces with his agility, moving a bit like Pau Gasol, but possessing no where near the same skill level… He plays well off a creating point guard, especially in pick-and-roll opportunities… Lima has shown some decent skills knocking down mid-range jumpers, but at this point, is too inconsistent to be considered a threat…

Weaknesses

Lima still has some work to do physically to advance his body for the game and in terms of experience and getting a better feel for the game. He certainly needs to add plenty of muscle to his lengthy frame which would help him in terms of low-post scoring and finishing with contact and in rebounding the basketball as well… He doesn't have the great feel for the game as sometimes he looks to get involved on both ends of the floor and other times, he's just watching everything go on around him. Lima's motor leaves some to be desired with the amount of plays he takes off… He does not have much of a post-game and requires someone to create offense for him on most occasions. The one exception would be when he crashes the offensive glass…
