#14 Arsalan Kazemi | F
Stats

Hometown: Esfahan, Iran

Height: 6'7"

Weight: 220

Position: Small Forward

Team: Oregon

Class: Senior
Strengths

Right-handed… Kazemi is the first Iranian player to play major collegiate basketball and often makes press because of that fact alone, but more should be focused on Kazemi's stellar play for Rice. He is one of the best and most efficient offensive players in the country combined with a dominating rebound rate, where he cleans both the offensive and defensive glass… Kazemi is a long, versatile forward that can wreak havoc for defenses playing either the 3 or the 4. He has a such a great motor and plays the game so aggressively that during his career at Rice, he gets to the foul line more than nearly any other player in the country and he is continuing to improve on his success rate there…. While he doesn't play a ton of minutes (under 30 per game), Kazemi produces on both ends of the floor. He averaged nearly a block and more than a steal per game from the power forward spot…. As an athlete, Kazemi is underrates. He displays excellent quickness in the open floor and possesses very good explosiveness around the basket.
Weaknesses

Kazemi needs to improve his overall skill set to get minutes at the 3 and help front office personnel believe in him that he is a tweener and not an undersized 4 man. He rarely moves away from the rim and we can't blame him with his shooting percentages and efficiency in that area, but he needs to become more of a versatile threat from the perimeter and extend his range out to 20 feet; he has shaky ball handling, which could certainly improve his perimeter game… As a post player, he lacks the go-to moves to score in the post. His foot work needs some work to seal off the defender behind him.

The Scouting Report:
Notes: Kazemi has transferred to Oregon from Rice after his junior season.
