#24 Aaric Murray | C
Stats

Hometown: Philadelphia, PA

Height: 6'10"

Weight: 250

Position: Center

Team: West Virginia

Class: Junior
Strengths

Right-handed… Great size. Stand at 6'10", 250 pounds. He is very strong, especially in upper body, allowing him to finish with contact around the rim and in the paint… He is a quick leaper, which, combined with his size and length, make him an above-average rebounder and shot blocker… Around the rim, he has the game of a true low-post center. He has a nice hook shot over his left shoulder. He crashes the glass well and has good hands and a soft touch to finish tip-ins or offensive boards for a quick two points… Murray is still developing his offensive repertoire, but his range extends to about 22 feet, making him quite a threat in the A-10. On the season, he is hitting above 40% from behind the arc. His talent to hit these outside shots and draw opposing big men away from the rim is an attribute scouts are high on…
Weaknesses

Murray needs to trim some of the fat off of his frame and add some muscle. To play at the next level, he will need to become more mobile and agile. He has had some weight and conditioning issues in the past… Murray's play has been relatively inconsistent all season long. This is part of the reason why so few people have heard of the La Salle product outside of the A-10. He recorded double-doubles against Villanova and Oklahoma State (totaling 25 points and 25 rebounds), but struggled at South Carolina and Kansas (shooting just 3-for-14). Against Xavier in the 2009-10 season, Murray was 1-for-9 from 3, but followed that game up by making his next 11-for-18 from behind the arc… He is still a bit raw offensively and lacks a feel for the game, but these are things that will come with time and hard-work…
The Scouting Report:
